Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is widely used in a variety of industries, from carbonated beverage production to cooling processes and chemical manufacturing. However, much of this CO₂ still comes from fossil sources, contributing to rising global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
A sustainable solution to this challenge is renewable CO₂, obtained from the purification of biogas. This process captures biogenic CO₂, preventing its release into the atmosphere and transforming it into an industrial input with low environmental impact.
Geo already offers renewable CO₂ as part of its circular economy and industrial decarbonization strategy. This product can be used in the food and beverage industry for carbonating soft drinks and beers, in the chemical industry for the synthesis of compounds such as methanol and urea, as well as in refrigeration and agricultural applications, such as the enrichment of greenhouses to optimize plant growth.
In addition to reducing the industry's carbon footprint, the use of renewable CO₂ strengthens the transition to a more sustainable model, aligned with global decarbonization goals. Geo continues to invest in innovative solutions, transforming waste into high value-added products and consolidating itself as a leader in solutions based on biogenic carbon, with emphasis on the production of biogas and its derivatives.
Geo Gás, one of Geo’s divisions, is responsible for the commercialization and logistics of this renewable CO₂. With an efficient and specialized infrastructure, Geo Gás offers complete solutions to meet the needs of the industry, driving sustainability and contributing to a future with lower emissions.
